2024 highlights

Michael Trotsky — Executive Director and CIO of Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management, received The Allocator’s 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award at The Allocator Prizes on October 17, 2024, at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center, New York City, joined by colleagues, family, and fellow investment leaders.

Over nearly 15 years, Trotsky transformed Massachusetts’ state retirement fund into one of the nation’s most respected public investment operations. With a steady hand and clear vision, he built a high-performing team, prioritized strong governance, and consistently delivered results for public employees and retirees. Revered by public fund peers, policymakers, and investment professionals alike, Trotsky stands as a model of integrity, discipline, and mission-driven leadership.

2023 highlights

The Allocator Prizes 2023 honored trailblazers in institutional investing, spotlighting professionals whose vision and impact have shaped the industry at the highest level.

Robin Diamonte, Chief Investment Officer of Raytheon Technologies, received the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award for her transformative leadership in corporate pension management. Since 2004, she has overseen over $115 billion in retirement assets with vision and discipline, earning the trust of corporate boards, retirees, and industry leaders. Widely regarded as one of corporate America's top investors, Diamonte’s influence spans from boardrooms to the White House.

Presented on October 10, 2023, in New York City, Diamonte’s award capped an evening dedicated to the power of long-term thinking, fiduciary duty, and the enduring value of leadership in finance.

2022 highlights

The 2022 Allocator Prizes, held on October 11 at the Rainbow Room in New York City, honored standout talent across institutional investing.

Robert Manilla of the Kresge Foundation was named Leader of the Year, while Sarah Samuels of NEPC earned Advisor of the Year. Meredith Jenkins and the Trinity Church Wall Street team won Team of the Year, and Collette Chilton’s Williams College team received Fiduciary of the Year. Clark Hoover and Rodney June of LACERS were awarded Idea of the Year, with Kelly Sandquist and the Grinnell College team recognized for Investment Operations of the Year. Baupost Group was named Best Partner, Ted Seides was honored as Best Citizen, and Al Hemmingsen received Best Bad Investment Idea.
